I love old school 2d animation but if you are a guy who cannot draw or has less time 3d CG is the way to go.
It will help speed up the process and allow you to make more anime and keep a consistent level of quality.

Well why not try doing things the old fashioned way? By tracing. What tracing? That is horrible! Why would I trace someone elses work?
You don’t have to do that silly. You can trace using references you create. There are many programs you could use to setup a shot and then trace it.
You can make your own characters in 3d and then use them to trace.
