Here is some inspiration. You know when creating a story feel free to think outside the box and created something new.
3d animation
I thought this was a great little nifty tool that you can possibly combine with the Spine animation tool and make a cool looking anime. Great for if you have some slight drawing inability. This can help you out alot.
If you are going to make an awesome anime you need more than good art, giant robots and big breasts to make something awesome. You need a good story. Here is some great tips to coming up with a story idea.
I cannot say how much this quick animation inspired me. Just wanted to share it.
What inspires you?
You guys remember that quote? If you do you are probably 40.

Going back to cut out animation. I know some folks hate to think of doing a series or movie that way but really it can add style, be fast and be beautiful.
Check out what you can do.
Here is a great little tutorial that shows you what you can do.
The software used is called SPINE. I think most animation software has some form of this type of animation but I really like how this one looks and moves. It is made for this very specific task and it does it well.
Check out who uses this method.
They do stuff like this using this cutout method.
Go for it. Cut out animation is not evil.
I remember as a kid wishing I could do animation. At the time hardly anyone had a computer. I first saw a computer when I was 9 years old and thought. Wow! This could be used to do animation. What couldn’t you do with a computer? That was 1987 or 1988.
I didn’t really have a way to animate even then. No scanner, no money, I don’t even think they had a mouse. But the day finally came when we got a computer. I was 19 years old and I grabbed my first Animation Master Software for $299. I started reading all the magazines I could as internet was still limited. Boy did I love those PC magazines about art.
But now there is nowhere near the limits you once had.
In fact if you want to do 2d or 3d there is a ton of free software available.
Moven has been a really cool software for some years. If you cannot afford Toon Boom or Flash this one will get you where you need to be if you want to do 2d Anime.

If you are not the best animator or you are the best at it refrences can be awesome and helpful. We talked about using 3d as a reference but you can use an actual person as well.
Here are some videos talking about animating using references and still drawing as well.
If you learn anything, learn how to tell a story first and foremost. Just wanted to share this touching animation.
I think there are ways around it by using 3d or CG type stuff but personally to do these awesome 2d things I think you need some skill in drawing. You be the judge.
