I came across this beautiful tribute awhile back.   I loved the style and loved all the little details.  This tribute to Hayao Miyazaki is awesome.

And now here is the breakdown.  The guy actually uses free software to make most of this.

Its a lot of work but beautiful!

I thought I’d share this with you all.

He talks alot about talking Japanese.   Meh….

He does have some good advice though.   He says start a Manga first.  Well that is the game plan for myself.

I’m actually working on several Manga’s and/or Webtoons.   I will be posting some work here including videos.  And since it is about how to make anime even if you are not the greatest artist this should help all of you out.   Recently I just got a great pipeline going for manga and anime.    If you want tutorials it will be under my category called “Anime Class!”

Now take some of this video as advice but some of it falls under goofy parody like advice and not really being 100% serious.

I hate the last part of the video but there are again some gems, especially the part about making a manga.

Making a Manga is easier than a full anime but as you create your manga you can start gaining fans and then Kickstart a full animation.    That is just one route.

Hey ya’ll.  I was doing some research on making Anime style backgrounds.  After all your characters have to live somewhere.   Give them a home and place to interact with in this awesome tutorial.

Here is a link to a whole boatload of tutorials

http://www.mclelun.com/

There are tons of tutorials that you can use for your manga or your anime series.

I really love his work.  I like how he uses 3d as a reference and in some cases as a render.    His website has extensive tutorials.  Go visit today and give your characters a place to live.

My last post was to share some tools you could affordably create MOCAP animations.  In this post I wanted to share ideas on how to put it together.

Here is an example of my work.

I made this for fun.  It took me less than 3 hours.  I combined my mocap system with Poser using Michael 3.0 and an Ironman model I found online.  Now I know it is not much but it was very easy.  Now using this easy method you can put it together and make some really awesome animations very quickly of course imagination not included.

Check out some more Poser + MOCAP animations.

I have bee keeping up with this really awesome Youtube channel called Art Sandwich.  They have been making some really cool spoofs of different movies.  I wanted to share their making of video because it breaks down the process pretty good and possibly could give you an idea on how to make your anime.   You could possibly use your own footage and actors and draw over them like these guys do.

Always think outside the box.

Here is some of their awesome work.

This reminded me of those Japanese, novels/games.  Someone let me know the name.    I have been enjoying this.  I think he also uses a psuedo 3d method to create this animated series.

If you want to tell your story here is another way to do it.

Sometimes you may feel all these cool tools are needed to make your own animation and that it costs TONS of money but the truth is there are tools out there which are totally free of charge and are very capable of helping you create and tell your story.

I’ve followed this team around for some time and have enjoyed watching them work on their project.   I’m posting this here so you can see what free tools they use and check out the tons of tutorials they have that can help you create something cool today.

If you are creative and think outside the box you can use almost any digital tool to create your own anime.  I wanted to share with you some tutorials and workflow used by my friend Kel-Chan.  She is a one person anime making machine.    She uses MMD and has learned how to kit bash and create all types of original characters.  In this set of tutorials you will see just how she does it from animating to using MMD and kitbashing.

If you are unfamiliar with MMD it is a Japanese software used to create all those Miku Dance videos.

You can download the free software here.
